From coconut flesh to desiccated coconut
Desiccated coconut is made from the white flesh of coconuts, which is dried and finely shredded. The coconuts we use come from Asia, where coconut palms grow among other vegetation. Harvesting is carried out by local farmers and their employees, who either climb the coconut palms or use long harvesting tools. No monkeys are used to harvest the coconuts used in our coconut products. The different parts of the coconut are utilised as thoroughly as possible, excluding the shell.
How to use desiccated coconut
Desiccated coconut is easy to sprinkle into both everyday dishes and baking. Add it to doughs or granola, finish porridge, yoghurt or a smoothie bowl, or roll homemade energy bites in it. Its fine texture also works especially well for decorating cakes, cookies and other desserts.
If you are looking for more crunch, choose coconut chips. When you want coconut to blend more seamlessly into a recipe or topping, desiccated coconut is an excellent choice.
