THE ORIGIN OF OUR APRICOTS
The apricot fruit originates in China, where apricot trees were already grown thousands of years ago. Europe had its first bite of apricots about 2,500 years ago, and the Greeks and Romans named the yellow, luscious fruits as “golden eggs of the Sun”. Since then, apricots have been one of the most popular fruits in the world, and they’re used widely in both desserts and fruity vegetable and chicken casseroles.
