Cold-pressed virgin coconut oil is one of our best-known and most versatile products and has become a staple in Finnish cooking and baking. Unlike delicate plant oils, coconut oil does not release harmful chemicals at high temperatures, and heating does not alter its chemical composition. Coconut oil is especially popular in vegan cooking and baking, and it is also easy to use in beauty care. There are countless ways to use coconut oil! It is an excellent alternative to animal-based solid fats and can also be used as an ingredient in sauces, doughs, stews and more.

Where does Foodin coconut oil come from?

Foodin Virgin Coconut Oil is made from the fresh white flesh of coconuts. The coconuts are harvested, peeled and washed, then processed within two hours of harvesting. The oil is slowly pressed at a low temperature.

The coconuts we use come from Asia, where coconut palms grow among other vegetation. Harvesting is carried out by local farmers and their employees, who either climb the coconut palms or use long harvesting tools. No monkeys are used to harvest the coconuts used in our coconut products. The different parts of the coconut are utilised as thoroughly as possible, excluding the shell.

How to use coconut oil

Virgin coconut oil is a versatile choice for cooking and baking. Use it for frying vegetables, in sauces and stews, or add it to doughs and other baked goods. Coconut oil also works beautifully in homemade raw chocolate and other coconut treats. A small amount can also be stirred into hot drinks such as coffee or cacao. Beyond the kitchen, coconut oil is commonly used for skin and hair care, for example as a massage oil or on the ends of the hair.

Store at room temperature, protected from light and heat. At temperatures above 25°C, coconut oil becomes liquid, but this does not affect its usability or quality. Contains no additives.
