DATES ARE ONE OF THE SWEETES FRUITS IN THE WORLD 

The Deglet Nour date, often considered the queen of dates, is luscious and sweet. Dates are fruit from date palms, which are one of the oldest trees to be farmed in human history. Dates grow in dense clusters, and one date palm can produce over 150 kilos of dates!  

Dates are a traditional fruit of the Middle East, and have spread far and wide due to their infinite versatility. Dates are known to be one of the sweetest fruits on the planet, and they’re used in cooking, baking, granola bars and snacks. Due to the increased popularity of vegan cooking, dates have become more important in baking and snacking. Many people with nut allergies find their favourites among pastries and desserts made with dates.  

Medjool dates make an excellent sweetener in baking and desserts. They’re particularly good when paired with raw cakes and other vegan pastries or snacks. You can chop up dates into your granolas or puddings, or make a delicious, luscious jam. Medjool dates are also a great snack all on their own.  

Dates can be soaked before use, making them plumpier and softer. Swirl them up in a smoothie or mix into pie batter!  

Store your dates in a cool, dry place. These dates have been pitted, but traces of the pits may still occur.
