OUR CREAMY COCONUT MILK COMES IN A RESEALABLE PACKAGE
Foodin’s organic, creamy coconut milk is made from the white pulp of the coconut. Coconut milk has been a core ingredient in cooking and ceremonies in countries and cultures all across southern Asia and the Pacific for centuries. Of all the plant milks, coconut milk has the longest and most tradition-filled history – in many countries, where coconut milk has been a kitchen staple, it is the main “milk” among the population.
Our coconut milk is brought to Finland from the same place as our hugely popular coconut water. Coconut palm trees are grown via forest farming, supporting biodiversity and the wellbeing of farmers. Thanks to its diverse nature, forest farming guarantees livelihoods for farmers in more than one way. Farmers are paid a fair compensation for their work, they are provided with proper training and tools, and it is ensured that their children have access to school.
Foodin’s coconut milk is very easy to use. The milk is packaged in a resealable TetraPak with a sugar cane cap. The packaging keeps the product good in the refrigerator, and is easy to sort into cardboards.
HOW TO USE COCONUT MILK
Coconut milk, paired with a versatile spice cabinet, allows for almost an endless variety of delicious vegetable recipes. One of the most popular and easiest ways to use coconut milk is to simmer vegetables in the milk, and season the sauce to your taste. A wonderful vegetable coconut sauce is a great family dish, and is easily served with rice or quinoa.
Tasty coconut rice is made by adding a splash of coconut milk into cooked rice, or cooking the rice in the milk. Simply add what you want on top and enjoy your coconut rice bowl!
During the holiday season, coconut milk is at its best when making vegan rice porridge. Simmer the porridge rice in coconut milk, and top with a dash of Ceylon cinnamon, but make sure to make enough of it – people will be coming for seconds! Coconut milk is also perfect for other porridges and chia puddings.
In addition to savory sauces and cooking, coconut milk suits sweet baking, desserts and smoothies very well. The full-bodied texture of coconut milk makes chocolate mousse heavenly creamy, and brings a lovely texture to your favourite smoothie.
A simple and tasty smoothie delicacy is created by mixing icy bananas, mangoes and berries of your choosing, such as strawberries or blueberries, together with coconut milk. All you need is a blender! Create a delicious, chocolatey version by mixing frozen bananas, coconut milk and raw cocoa powder. The frostier the ingredients, the more ice-creamy the smoothie becomes. Be imaginative, and try all kinds of new combinations!
An opened coconut milk pack can be stored in the refrigerator for at least 1-3 days.
