FULL AND DARK BUCKWHEAT FLOUR
Buckwheat flour is a gluten free, dark baking flour. Buckwheat is not a traditional grain, but part of the buckwheat plant family. Its triangular shaped seeds are used as food as they are or by grinding them into flour or flakes.
Buckwheat flour is suitable for many types of baking and cooking. In Finland, buckwheat has been used in bread, in Japan, it is made into noodles, and in Russia it is used to make delicious blinis. You can replace 75% of your regular white flour with buckwheat flour when you bake.
Buckwheat is known as a resilient plant, that grows regions where other plants do not. In Finland buckwheat was popular between 1700-1850, and in the past few decades it has made a strong comeback due to its gluten free properties.
