THE CREAMY, VERSATILE CASHEW NUT
The creamy and mild cashew nut contains protein and unsaturated fats. The nut is a definite favourite for many of our customers in both sweet and savory baking and cooking.
Cashews are a classic in Asian sauces, vegetarian woks and stews, and go particularly well with chicken dishes as well as oyster and black bean sauces. Cashews provide texture in salads as well as rice dishes, and in baking, the nuts make mouth-watering fillings and cake toppings. When crushed, cashew nuts can be sprinkled into melted raw chocolate – and you can prepare cashew-chocolate bars or cups in an instant!
Soaking multiplies the possibilities of cashew nuts. Soaked cashews transform into nut milk, smoothies and raw porridge as well as vegan cheese and yogurt. Due to their versatility, cashew nuts are typically an important part of vegan diets. Soak your cashews for four hours at least, and if you want a softer texture, leave them to soak overnight.
